Dr Irosh Fernando – Psychiatrist

It’s a privilege to welcome Dr Irosh Fernando Consultant Psychiatrist to Family Circle Medical Practice.

Dr Fernando has contributed significantly to the Newcastle community mental health services. He has worked tirelessly in Hunter New England Area Health and James Fletcher Hospital, Newcastle.

He is also a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle. Dr Irosh Fernando is actively involved in research and affiliated with Hunter Medical Research Institute. He also holds a PhD from the University of Newcastle and Master of Biostatistics from the University of Sydney.

Mental illness plagues us all at some stage of our lives. His empathetic approach augmented with the years of experience in helping individuals at their darkest moments regain control of their lives will be an asset to our patients. Dr Fernando accepts patients from the age of 12 years with a referral from your respective GP.
